Field Application Engineer

Brief Description:

Leading computer Server Company is looking for FAE to provide pre-sales and post-sales support to customers in a multi cultural environment. We need a dedicated and customer-oriented engineer with excellent x86 server hardware hands-on experience to navigate, troubleshoot and resolve customer’s reported server issues. Candidate should have strong knowledge in the latest rack-mount x86 server technology for data centers and large medium to large enterprises.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support to customers both onsite and offsite
  • Reproduce technical environments where issues are being reported
  • Manage, troubleshoot, and resolve customer’s reported server hardware related issues and related network issues
  • Work closely with sales team and provide assistance as needed to drive customer satisfaction
  • Provide onsite technical training to customers as required
  • Manage and document solutions to problems and contribute to technical support knowledge base
  • Configure, test, and prepare server hardware for customer evaluation and testing purposes
  • Conduct various system level testing based on customer requirements
  • Conduct testing on new server and storage products
  • Become an expert in Inspur server and storage hardware

Working Conditions:

  • Office environment and lab/warehouse setting

  • Minimum 3 years as FAE or technical support professional or relevant experience with BSEE/CS/CE or equivalent technical degree or experience is required
  • Knowledge of rack-mount server architecture from component level (CPU, HBA, RAID controllers, BMC, etc.) to system level (motherboard, back/mid planes, chassis and power, etc.) and system firmware (BIOS, BMC, etc.) are required
  • Experience with SAS/SATA/NVMe standards, HBA/RAID controllers, expanders, JBODs, strongly preferred
  • Linux, Windows system admin skills
  • Working experience with BIOS/BMC firmware configuration and update, ipmi tools and commands are required
  • Detail oriented with excellent troubleshooting skill
  • A person with the highest level of integrity
  • A self-starter able to work independently and within a team, good teamwork skills
  • Proficient verbal, and writing skills are required
  • Ability to travel to customer sites as required
