Inspur Announces Its First Generation Open19 Products for Cloud Datacenters at CeBIT 2017
Hannover, Germany, March 21, 2017 —Inspur today announces its first generation of Open19 products, which include compute and storage server “Bricks”, all based on the next generation Intel® Xenon® processor family (codename Skylake), at CeBIT 2017.
Open19 is a new initiative that aims to build a standard that works in any EIA 19-inch rack, in order to allow many more suppliers to produce servers that will interoperate and will be interchangeable in any rack environment. The goals of Open19 are to provide lower cost per rack, lower cost per server, optimized power utilization, and an open standard that everyone can contribute to and participate in.
As member of Open19, Inspur is bringing to the Open19 community its design and manufacturing of open hardware experience in connection with all open hardware standards. Inspur has a long history of designing open hardware. For instance, Inspur is a key participant in the ODCC Scorpio Project since its inception in 2010 working with the BAT companies (Baidu, Alibaba, Tencent) and is currently the largest Solution Provider for ODCC/Scorpio Racks for hyperscale deployments. The company is committed to bringing innovations in datacenter hardware design and manufacturing in support of the Open19 initiative to fuel the adoption of open hardware.
